The Baton Rouge class cruisers were first commissioned on Reference Stardate 1/7008 (August 2196),[1][2][3] and 220 would be built. Between Reference Stardate 1/8708 (August 2244) and 1/9308 (August 2250), the Baton Rouge class was refitted with new warp engines. This timely improvement allowed the ship to continue to serve effectively as a light cruiser throughout the Klingon War, until the class was retired on Reference Stardate 2/10 (2268).[1]
