- January: A group of scientists in New York City develops a plan to create genetically engineered soldiers. Noonien Singh is one of their test subjects. (Star Trek: Khan Chapter 1)
1979
- December: Noonien's training continues, and he continually tests both his own limits and those of the scientists experimenting on him. He learns that the scientists have implanted neural inhibitors in all the Augment test subjects. (Star Trek: Khan Chapter 1)
1985
- August: Noonien kills the scientists who created him and the other Augments, once the Augments have found a way to remove their neural inhibitors.
