The Laxala Incident occured on Reference Stardate 1/9504 (April 2195) when a Klingon task force intercepted an Orion merchant ship carrying dilithium to the Federation world of Alphosa. The Orions had remained neutral in the Four Years War, a conflict between the Klingons and the Federation, and rather than allow the dilithium to be taken by the Klingons, the Orion captain destroyed his own ship.^[1]^[2]^[3]
