Construction on the Federation Starship Ari, a Bonhomme Richard class cruiser (a variant of the Constitution class), was authorized by the Starfleet Appropriation of Stardate 3220[1] and commissioned circa June 2251. The Ari, like her Bonhomme Richard class sister ships, saw extensive combat in the Four Years War. Following the war, the surviving Bonhomme Richard class vessels were decommissioned and destroyed in weapons tests as part of Star Fleet's postwar demilitarization.[2]
