Sturgeon was a member of Starfleet in the sciences division, and was assigned to the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 in 2266. On Stardate 1531.1, he was part of a landing party on planet M-113. He was sent to locate Nancy Crater, and was killed by the M-113 creature, which had taken her form.[1]
