After the United Federation of Planets had been at war with the Klingon Empire for more than two decades, Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge served as chief engineer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D. La Forge was killed in 2366, when the Enterprise was destroyed while assisting the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-C in returning to its own time of 2344, a move that would prevent the war and alter the timeline.[1]

After the Borg successfully assimilated Earth in 2366, Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge was one of the few surviving members of Starfleet, and served as chief engineer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D. In 2368, he met his counterpart from another universe,[2] and helped, at long last, to rescue Captain Jean-Luc Picard,[3][4] who had spent the past two years as Locutus,[5] and overthrow the Borg foothold on Earth.[4]

Commander Geordi La Forge served as first officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D. In 2370, he encountered his counterpart from another universe, when their shuttlecraft crashed on the same planet; it was unclear which reality they were all in at the time, and both La Forges had to determine which universe it was before anyone could leave the planet.[6]

Captain Geordi La Forge, who had previously served as first officer and chief engineer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-E under Captain Data, was named commanding officer of the Starship Challenger in 2397; he was succeeded as chief engineer on the Enterprise by Lieutenant Commander Nog.[7] In 2409, La Forge led a task force to prevent the escape of an Undine infiltrator disguised as Ambassador Sokketh after he was exposed on P'Jem.[8]
