Constellation class[1]

The lead vessel of the Constellation class, the Starship Constellation was constructed circa 2275.[2] In 2293, the Constellation ran certification tests.[3]

In 2371, the Constellation was sent to transport a Jem'Hadar child abandoned on Deep Space 9 to Starbase 201.[4] After the U.S.S. Honshu NCC-60205 was destroyed in 2374, Starfleet assigned the Constellation and the U.S.S. Defiant NX-74205 to search for survivors in adjacent star systems.[5]

Note

The "Star Trek: The Next Generation Officer's Manual" lists the Constellation as having the registry number NCC-2500, with a commissioning date in February 2320, and indicates that it was scrapped in January 2361.[6] However, as other sources have apparently contradicted this information, the possibilities are that there are either three separate Constellation class ships bearing the same name, or there is only one; Occam's Razor would suggest that there was, in fact, only one ship, and the contradictory information has been disregarded.
