FASA Timeline
(FASA Roleplaying Game)

Reference Stardate 1/2401 through 1/2412
  • RSD 1/24: The first evidence of extragalactic life is discovered when an unknown probe is recovered from Sector 24 by the Castor class U.S.S. Greyhound. The ship's science officer, Dr. William Pomeroy, notes that it is a cylinder measuring two meters long, with a diameter of 357 millimeters, featuring no seams or extruding appendages, and is of incredible density that resists every effort at analysis. The ion trail left by the object indicated conclusively that it originated from the Small Magellanic Cloud, at speeds approaching warp 30. When the probe detected the Greyhound, it abruptly dropped out of warp, approached the Star Fleet vessel, then stopped within 10,000 kilometers. The Greyhound observed the probe for a full day before the captain ordered it brought aboard for analysis.[1][2]

  • RSD 1/2412: Faced with threats that the Federation will revoke its non-agression agreements because of the closure of Orion ports to even emergency traffic, the Orions reopen their ports to Federation shipping on a limited basis. They sign further treaties with the Federation, which promise the Orion worlds protection from outside aggression, while binding the Orions only to not directly attacking the Federation. This leaves the way open for the Orions to trade with both sides if and when the Klingon Empire and the Federation ever meet in armed conflict.[3]
