Alpha Centauri, also known as Al Rijil,<ref name="FASA2011"/> was a trinary system consisting of two [[Stellar Classes#G-Type|yellow stars]] and a [[Stellar Classes#M-Type|red dwarf]]. The two yellow stars, Alpha Centauri A and B, were orbited by seven planets. The fourth, fifth, and seventh planets were all [[Planetary Classes (FASA)#Class M|Class M]], and all were inhabited by the 23rd century; the seventh planet was home to an indigenous humanoid civilization<ref name="Maps"/> when it was contacted by the [[U.N.S.S.
