Envisioned as a major mining/supply point between Federation worlds and colonial settlements, Anchor was passed by as the Federation turned its attention to more strategic regions of space. Anchorites subsisted in a modest feudal system, although several southern cities continued to trade locally-produced glass and pottery with other systems. In the 2210s, Star Fleet built a repair facility in orbit around the planet, and many trusted that the influx of Star Fleet personnel would revive the planet's industry.[1]
