Prime Timeline
(The root of all realities)

Marplon[1] was one of the rare Betans who was resistant to being absorbed into the Body of Landru. In 2267, he was part of a resistance cell with Tamar and Reger, though for security, Reger and Marplon were unaware of the other's identity. Marplon was highly placed in the hierarchy of Betan society, with access to the chamber where a hologram of Landru appeared. When Reger and a landing party from the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 was captured and the landing party was taken to be absorbed, Marplon was able to prevent the process from taking over Captain Kirk and Commander Spock, and together they exposed the truth that Landru was a computer and convinced it that it was harming the people it was built to protect, causing it to short-circuit and shut down.[2]
