U.S.S. Mundy (FASA)
The Federation Starship Mundy was an Aakenn class freighter. On Reference Stardate 2/1309 (November 2270),[Notes 1] the Mundy was found adrift near Starbase 21. The vessel's onboard life support systems were operating, but there were no crewmembers aboard. The bridge showed signs of a struggle, but nearly all computer files had been lost and there was no recorded data to reveal what had happened. The last entry from the captain's log, from about four months earlier, made no mention of any emergency or possible danger. When the cargo hold was breached, it was found to hold millions of live Tribbles, living on the food produced by a synthesizer that had somehow been left on.[1]
The "Tribble ship," as it came to be called, was towed to Starbase 21. There, investigators learned that the ship was stolen two years earlier. The mystery remained unsolved until Reference Stardate 2/2205 (May 2284), when two of its crewmembers were found in a nearby asteroid cluster, where they somehow were missed when search parties checked the area for survivors. They revealed that the ship was boarded by a band of renegade Klingons who, when they discovered that the cargo was Tribbles, became so enraged that they killed the captain and senior officers, and stranded the crew on the asteroid.[1]

- ↑ FASA game materials referred to events by a FASA-specific dating standard called the "Reference Stardate." All dates taken from FASA sources in this article have been adapted from that notation into standard calendar dates, which are then adjusted for errors in the baseline dates used as reference by the FASA authors. Working with a known, dated event (e.g., the launch of the Constitution class starships), the other dates in the timeline can be adjusted accordingly. FASA sources give the launch of the Constitution class as Reference Stardate 1/8801.04, which translates to the standard caldendar date of 04 January 2188. This has been established on screen, however, as occurring in 2245. As the exact month and date remain unstated in other sources, those remain the same, but the year has been adjusted to 2245, giving a modified date of 04 January 2245. This can then also be converted into the pre-TOS stardate system established in Star Trek (2009), giving us a stardate of 2245.004.
