Prime Timeline
(The root of all realities)

Blankets were used for insulation against cold temperatures and were typically made from a thin, lightweight material. On Stardate 1672.1, a landing party from the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 used blankets, thermal heaters, and rocks heated with a hand phaser to provide warmth against sub-freezing temperatures on Alfa 177 when the ship's transporter was rendered inoperative.[1]
