Fencing was the sport of fighting with foils or other bladed weapons. Lieutenant Sulu enjoyed fencing, and tried to coax Lieutenant Riley into joining him, though Riley was less impressed. When the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 crew was overcome by an unknown illness that caused them to lose their inhibitions, Sulu chased several crew members around the ship with his foil.[1]
