Nuclear weapons were incredibly powerful weapons of mass destruction,[1] which operated by turning the energy produced from nuclear fission to destructive ends.[2] The Talosians fought a war with nuclear weapons that so devastated the planet, millennia passed before the surface began to become habitable once more.[1]
