Arcturus IV — commonly referred to as, simply, Arcturus[2] — was the fourth of five planets in the Arcturus system.[1] A major cultural and commercial center, Arcturus maintained a Human culture comparable to that of Earth's Elizabethan England. The Arcturans were very influential among Federation members, many of whom,[2] including Anton Karidian,[3] adopted their mode of dress and cultural styles. On Reference Stardate 2/2306 (June 2223), Arcturus, a member planet in the United Federation of Planets with a population of 8.5 billion, had a representative in the Federation Council. Arcturus' primary economic concerns included cultural exchange, industry, trade, and Star Fleet support facilities.[2]
