Ensign Sam Rutherford served aboard the U.S.S. Cerritos NCC-75567 in 2380. A few weeks prior to Stardate 57436.2, he was fitted with a cybernetic implant on the left side of his head. Of Vulcan origin, the device would actively attempt to suppress Rutherford's emotional state, much to his discomfort. When Ensign Barnes asked if he had heard of the classical band The Monkees, Rutherford said, "Let's just say 'I'm a Believer,'" a reference to one of their songs.[1]
