pergium

Pergium was a rare element used in life support systems. The mining colony on Janus VI produced a significant percentage of the United Federation of Planets' supply of pergium, and when production was interrupted by the appearance of the Horta on Stardate 3196.1, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 responded to the distress call.[1]
