magic
Magic was the art of seeming to control things or events, by way of supernatural power. Magic was referred to by many names, including sorcery[1] and witchcraft.[2] Practitioners of magic were known by many names, including sorcerers[1] and witches.[2] The commander of a Romulan Bird of Prey called Starfleet Captain Kirk a sorcerer during their battle on Stardate 1709.2, as Kirk's tactics deftly countered all of his own.[1] Sylvia and Korob gave the appearance of magical powers through the use of extremely advanced technology during an encounter with the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 at Pyris VII.[3] After accidentally traveling back in time to a medieval period in the planet Sarpeidon's history, Kirk was accused of witchcraft when people overheard him speaking to Spock and McCoy through a time portal.[2]
