When the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 encountered the Fesarius on Stardate 1512.2, Lieutenant Bailey noted that he raised his voice because of his adrenal gland, not because he was scared. Commander Spock noted that it sounded most inconvenient, and asked if the lieutenant had considered having it removed.[1]
