AS03 Timeline
(Spock died as a child)

Thelin served as both first officer and chief science officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 in the late 2260s. On Stardate 5373.4, he discovered that Spock, a Vulcan who had appeared through the Guardian of Forever with Captain Kirk, was the ship's first officer in his timeline, but had died as a child during the kahs-wan in Vulcan's Forge as a child in this timeline. Thelin assisted Spock in his preparations to travel back in time in order to save his own life as a child, which would put Spock in Thelin's place, but said that he was "not aggrieved. … A warrior race has few sympathies, but one we do possess is for family. In your time plane, you will live and so will your mother. That is valuable."[1]
