Named for Admiral William G. Larson, the hero of the Battle of Gamma Hydra, the Federation Starship Larson, commissioned on Reference Stardate 1/8801 (January 2188), was the prototype of the Larson class destroyers. On RSD 2/0102 (February 2201), the Larson was refit to the Mark II configuration; then to Mark VI on RSD 2/1111 (November 2211); and to Mark VII on RSD 2/1410 (October 2214).[1]
