The Federation Starship Xerxes was a Larson class destroyer commissioned on Reference Stardate 1/9208 (August 2192), and served during the Four Years War,[1] which lasted from RSD1/9409 (September 2194) through RSD1/9806 (June 2198).[2] Doctor Leonard McCoy served aboard the Xerxes[3] as a medical officer c.2197-2199.[4]
The Xerxes was refit to Mark II specifications on RSD1/9901 (January 2199), giving it more powerful phasers and an additional torpedo launcher. On RSD2/1202 (February 2212), the ship was refit again to the Mark VI configuration, giving it a more powerful impulse drive system, improved phasers, and more efficient shield generators. Reference Stardate 2/1412 (December 2214) saw another refit, this time to the Mark VII specifications, which featured the new FWC-2 warp engines and a more powerful impulse drive system, which increased the overall power output by 25 percent. On RSD2/1811 (November 2218), the Xerxes was scrapped.[1]
