- RSD 1/16: The Clark class Space Tank is removed from service.[1]

- RSD 1/1601.16 (16 January): The assassins from Maxwell's Planet stage an unsuccessful assassination attempt against Federation Council President Sardix at a political rally. The President is unharmed, but all of the assassins and six bystanders are killed, including Federation Councilman Ehrenburg.[2][3]
April
- RSD 1/1604: Starbase 10 is completed and assumes operational status.[4]
May
- RSD 1/1605: After receiving special appropriations from the Federation Council, Star Fleet Intelligence Command adds Independent Activities Units to its Technical Services subdivision.[2]
