Captain Geordi La Forge commanded the Galaxy class Starship Challenger in 2390, when the ship tried unsuccessfully to prevent Chakotay and Harry Kim from changing history.[1]
STO Timeline
Captain Geordi La Forge, who had previously served as first officer and chief engineer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-E under Captain Data, was named commanding officer of the Starship Challenger in 2397; he was succeeded as chief engineer on the Enterprise by Lieutenant Commander Nog.[2]

In 2368, he met his counterpart from another universe,[5] and helped, at long last, to rescue Captain Jean-Luc Picard,[6] who had spent the past two years as Locutus,[7] and overthrow the Borg foothold on Earth.[6]
