The Federation Starship Aries[1] was a Hermes class scout of the Cygnus subclass (aka the Cygnus class). The Cygnus subclass was specially outfitted for regular duty as command and diplomatic couriers.[2] Shortly before Stardate 6221.4, the Aquila was destroyed, apparently by Romulan forces.[3]
The Federation Starship Aquila, a Hermes class scout of the Cygnus subclass (aka the Cygnus class), was authorized for production by the Starfleet Appropriation of Stardate 3669. The Cygnus subclass was specially outfitted for regular duty as command and diplomatic couriers.[2]
