Satellites were objects that orbited a larger body, such as a moon or planet. Artificial satellites were used by Humans as early as the 1950s, a fact revealed to the Talosians when they reviewed the computer files aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 in 2254.[1]
