Doctor Leonard[1] "Bones"[2] McCoy was the Chief Medical Officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701.[3] McCoy admitted on Stardate 1329.1 that he "never trusted" transporters.[4] In 2256, McCoy ended a two-year relationship with a woman named Nancy. She had given him the nickname "Plum."[1] Exposure to the spores of the pod plants found on Omicron Ceti III on Stardate 3417.3 caused McCoy's tonsils, which had been removed when he was younger, to regenerate.[5]
