Starfleet Cadet Finnegan was known at Starfleet Academy for his often mean-spirited pranks. A frequent target of his pranks was Cadet James T. Kirk, which earned Kirk the sympathy of fellow cadet Sylvia Tilly. Finnegan graduated in 2256, to the surprise of Tilly, who attributed it to the luck of his Irish heritage.[1] On Stardate 3025.3, while visiting the amusement planet in the Omicron Delta region, then-Captain Kirk inadvertently conjured into being simulacra of Finnegan, allowing him to finally live out a fantasy of "beat[ing] the tar out of him."[2]
