Beginning as a loose pact for cooperation, trade, and non-agression between Humans, Vulcans, Andorians, Alpha Centaurans, Rigellians, and others in 2404,[1] the United Federation of Planets was founded on Stardate 0965 with the ratification of the Articles of Federation.[2]
