EV suit

Environment suits were used to protect the wearer from hazardous environments, such as suspected biological contaminants or the vacuum of space, and different types of environmental protection were available based on the hazards anticipated. On Stardate 1704.2, Commander Spock and Lieutenant, j.g. Tormolen wore environmental suits designed for potential biohazard exposure when they beamed down to a science station on the surface of Psi 2000. The measure proved ineffective, however, when Tormolen broke his suit's integrity by removing his glove, unknowingly exposing himself to the polywater intoxication that had claimed the lives of the outpost's personnel.[1]
