He assisted Lieutenant Commander Scott at the transporter while beaming a boarding party over to the Fesarius on Stardate 1514.1.[2] He was on duty on the bridge on Stardate 1329.1 when the ship pursued a Class J cargo vessel piloted by Harry Mudd into an asteroid field.[3] He was on duty at the engineering station on the bridge during a mission to Alfa 177 when Captain Kirk confronted his transporter duplicate on Stardate 1673.5, and the version of Kirk embodying his id ordered James to apprehend his counterpart, who embodied the captain's ego.[1]
