Lieutenant[1] Leslie was assigned to the operations division aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 in 2267. On Stardate 2825.3, he was manning the helm when the ship arrived at Benecia.[2] While Captain Kirk and Commander Spock were on Gothos on Stardate 2126.1, Leslie took command of the bridge.[3] On Stardate 3087.6, he was at the helm when the ship investigated moments of galaxy-wide "nonexistence," which Starfleet Command believed to be a potential prelude to invasion from an alternate universe.[4]

  1. Though his uniform bore no rank insignia in "The Conscience of the King," which would indicate that he was an ensign, Leslie was referred to as "lieutenant" in the script. He had the correct rank insignia in later appearances.
