Doctor Theodore Haskins was a member of an expedition from the American Continent Institute that chartered the S.S. Columbia in 2236. When the ship was exploring the Talos Star Group, it crashed on Talos IV, killing Haskins and all but one of the other members of the expedition, Vina. While the Haskins encountered by the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 in 2254 proved to be an illusion created by the Talosians, it was based on a real person, taken from the memories of Columbia survior Vina.[1]
