Constitution class[1]

The Federation Starship Constitution,[Notes 1] the prototype of the Constitution class,[2] was commissioned on Stardate 2245.004 (4 January[3] 2245[4]).[Notes 2] Construction began on Stardate 2239.09 (September 2239),[5] and the Constitution boasted several new technologies, most notably Duotronic computers;[6] Stardate 2260.06 (June 2260) saw a refit to Mark III specifications.[7]

The Constitution saw combat during the Four Years War,[5] and the ship was commanded by Fleet Captain Kelvar Garth (aka Garth of Izar) from 2251 until 2255.[5][8][Notes 3] The Constitution was later commanded by Commodore Darion Page from 2256 until she was lost in action in 2269.[8] In 2267, the Constitution was at Starbase 11 for repairs.[9]
