Prime Timeline

Constitution class[1]

The Constitution class[2] U.S.S. Eagle NCC-956[Notes 1] was commissioned on Reference Stardate 2/0405 (May[3] 2247[4]).[Notes 2] With an all-Andorian crew under Captain Igrilan Kor,[5][6] the Eagle was the most decorated Starfleet vessel of its time.[5][4] In 2275, the Eagle made first contact with the enigmatic Breen. Captain Igrilan Kor beamed over to the Breen ship and, although language barriers impeded productive diplomatic negotiations, reported that the Breen were a peaceful, if somewhat withdrawn, species. This contributed a great deal to future confusion over the Breen's attitude when they, apparently inexplicably, became hostile.[6]

Constitution class refit[7]

The Eagle was upgraded to Mark II refit specifications on Reference Stardate 2/2108 (August 2279),[3] then to Mark III on Reference Stardate 2/2411 (November 2282), and to Mark IV on Reference Stardate 2/3303 (March 2291).[8] Also in 2291, the Eagle, while on a colony resupply mission, was included in plans for Operation Retrieve, a proposed rescue operation of Captain Kirk and Dr. McCoy from Klingon hands.[2] The Eagle was destroyed on Reference Stardate 2/4707 (July 2305).[8]

OSDC73 Timeline

U.S.S. Eagle (OSDC73 Timeline)[9]

The Constitution class Starship Eagle was commanded by Captain Botwin in 2260, and his first officer was Commander James T. Kirk.[9]

Note

  1. The "Star Fleet Technical Manual" lists the Eagle's registry number as NCC-1719, while the "Federation Ship Recognition Manual" and "Star Trek: The Next Generation Officer's Manual" list the Eagle's registry number as NCC-1738. Further, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country lists the Eagle's registry as NCC-956. The registries that contradict the film, as well as contradictory data on the ship's disposition, must be ignored in favor of later information.
  2. FASA game materials referred to events by a FASA-specific dating standard called the "Reference Stardate." All dates taken from FASA sources in this article have been adapted from that notation into standard calendar dates, which are then adjusted for errors in the baseline dates used as reference by the FASA authors. Working with a known, dated event (e.g., the launch of the Constitution class starships), the other dates in the timeline can be adjusted accordingly. FASA sources give the launch of the Constitution class as Reference Stardate 1/8801.04, which translates to the standard caldendar date of 04 January 2188. This has been established on screen, however, as occurring in 2245. As the exact month and date remain unstated in other sources, those remain the same, but the year has been adjusted to 2245, giving a modified date of 04 January 2245. This can then also be converted into the pre-TOS stardate system established in Star Trek (2009), giving us a stardate of 2245.004.
