The Federation Starship Menke, a Nelson class scout, disappeared along the rimward frontier on Reference Stardate 2/0902 (February 2267). Hull fragments from the ship were discovered 280 parsecs away on Reference Stardate 2/2008 (December 2282), more than a decade later. Scientists were baffled trying to determine what may have happened to the ship.[1]
