The Federation Starship Proxima, a Nebula class cruiser,[1] was lost in the Gamma Quadrant[2] in 2369,[3] and was likely destroyed by Dominion forces.[2] Named for Proxima Centauri, a star 4.3 light years from Earth.[1]
