Federation Ambassador Sarek was married to Amanda Grayson, a Human woman; they had a son, Spock, who died in 2237 during the kahs-wan in Vulcan's Forge. Sarek and Amanda's marriage came to an end after Spock's death, and she died in a shuttle accident at Lunaport while returning to Earth. Between 2239 and 2269, Sarek had served as ambassador to seventeen planets.[1]
