The Class F shuttlecraft was first brought into service in 2245,[3] concurrent with the commissioning of the Constitution class starships to which it was primarily assigned, often served as a personnel and cargo transportation vehicle.[3] Class F shuttlecraft can be operated by a single person, though normal operations call for two flight crew.[4][3]
