Thasus was the homeworld of the Thasians. The planet was inhospitable to most life, though there were signs that the planet had once been inhabited. It was not until 2266 that evidence was revealed that the Thasians did, in fact, exist, and had become non-corporeal beings centuries earlier. When a ship crashed on the planet in 2252, leaving only one survivor — three-year-old Charlie Evans — the Thasians granted him the same mental powers that they possessed, in order that the Human boy would survive. They then appeared on the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 on Stardate 1535.8 to retrieve the now-seventeen-year-old Charlie, who had been found by the U.S.S. Antares NCC-501. The Antares was destroyed by the immature boy in a fit of anger, which the Thasians were unable to prevent, but they were able to undo the other damage he had caused aboard the Enterprise before they took him back to Thasus.[1]
