The Federation Starship Thelenth was a Larson class destroyer commissioned on Reference Stardate 1/8804 (April 2188). Although Larson class vessels were named for military leaders and battles of Terran origin, the Thelenth was the sole exception. The ship was named for the Andorian Admiral Thelenth, who defeated the Klingons in a pitched battle at Donovan's Star at the cost of his own ship and crew.[1]
The Thelenth was refit to the Larson class Mark II specifications on Reference Stardate 1/9806 (June 2198), giving it more powerful phasers and an additional torpedo launcher. On Reference Stardate 2/1202 (February 2212), the ship was refit again to the Mark VI configuration, giving it a more powerful impulse drive system, improved phasers, and more efficient shield generators. Reference Stardate 2/1503 (March 2215) saw another refit, this time to the Mark VII specifications, which featured the new FWC-2 warp engines and a more powerful impulse drive system, which increased the overall power output by 25 percent. As of Reference Stardate 2/2306 (June 2223), the Thelenth was still on active service.[1]
