Construction on the Federation Starship Monoceros, the lead vessel of the Monoceros class scout (a variant of the Hermes class), was authorized by the Star Fleet Appropriation of Stardate 3669[1] and commissioned on Reference Stardate 1/8906 (June 2189).[2]
