Lieutenant Commander Montgomery Scott served as Chief Engineer aboard the I.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701.[1] In 2265, Scott conspired with the ship's first officer, Commander James T. Kirk, to clandestinely install the Tantalus Device in Kirk's quarters as part of a plot to assassinate Captain Christopher Pike.[2][3][4][5]
In 2267, a freak transporter accident caused him to temporarily trade places with his counterpart from another universe.[1]
