The Federation Starship Intrepid was the prototype of the Intrepid class light explorer.[1] In 2379, the Intrepid was part of Battle Group Omega, a task force of seven starships sent to intercept the Scimitar as it traveled from Romulus to Earth in an attempt to attack the Federation capitol with a Thalaron weapon.[2]
