Amanda[1] Grayson[2] was the wife of Federation Ambassador Sarek[1] and mother of Starfleet Captain[3] and, later, Ambassador[4] Spock, who said that his mother considered herself to be "a very fortunate Earth woman" for having married his father.[5] Amanda met Sarek while he was Vulcan's ambassador to Earth and she was a teacher.[6]
