Myriad Universes: Tractor Beam
Tractor beams were used to capture, hold, and retrieve objects. On Stardate 1312.1, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 used a tractor beam to secure the recorder-marker buoy from the S.S. Valiant before using the transporter to beam it aboard.[1] The Enterprise was also caught in a tractor beam by the First Federation starship Fesarius during First Contact on Stardate 1512.2.[2] On Stardate 5392.4, the Enterprise used a tractor beam to take a damaged robot grain ship in tow and transfer its cargo aboard the Enterprise.[3]
