The Federation Starship Lafayette was a Larson class destroyer commissioned on Reference Stardate 1/9704 (April 2255). The Lafayette was refit to the Larson class Mark II specifications during the Klingon War on Reference Stardate 1/9901 (January 2257), giving it more powerful phasers and an additional torpedo launcher. On Reference Stardate 2/1202 (January 2270), the ship was refit again to the Mark VI configuration, and Reference Stardate 2/1709 (September 2273) saw another refit, this time to the Mark VII specifications. As of Reference Stardate 2/2306 (June 2286), the Lafayette was still on active service.[1]
