- January 13: In the Mirror Universe, the U.S.S. Defiant NCC-1764 has fallen through a rift in spacetime from 2268. It was seized by the Tholians, who began to study its future technology, when Commander Jonathan Archer of the I.S.S. Enterprise NX-01 learned of its existence. (ENT 94) Following the destruction of the Enterprise in combat with the Tholians, the Defiant comes under the control of Archer, then Sato, who uses the ship's advanced weaponry to put down a rebellion and declare herself empress of the Terran Empire. - RSD 1/0507.22 (22 July): Two Romulan gunboats are surrounded and crippled in the Sexton system by units from Starfleet's 123rd Combat Squadron. The Romulan ships self-destruct while several Starfleet ships maneuver close for boarding. Four destroyers are lost with all hands. Starfleet issues standing orders prohibiting its vessels from closing with even a badly-damaged Romulan vessel.[1]
