The Federation Starship Hornet, a Bonhomme Richard class cruiser (a variant of the Constitution class), was authorized for construction by the Star Fleet Appropriation of Stardate 3220,[1] and was commissioned circa 2194. The Hornet and the other Bonhomme Richard class vessels served during the Four Years War, but those that survived the war were decommissioned and destroyed in weapons tests as part of Star Fleet's postwar demilitarization.[2]
